Test Fixtures
Test Software Systems contracts out the
fabrication of test fixtures. We work with most fixture suppliers throughout
the United States. If you as our customer have a preference, we will contract
with the fixture supplier of your choice.
In addition to any features you specify, the
following are standard for all Test Software Systems fixtures:
 |
An image of the nail
map will be displayed on the bottom of the ground plane, all probes locations are
identified to help in finding the test points. |
 |
Fixtures shall be 100%
drilled for all component leads. This will allow for fixture revisions without
major rework costs. |
 |
A Plexiglass protection
cover is provided to fit in place of the unit under test (UUT) when the fixture is not in
use. The cover will help protect from accidental gasket damage and keep
foreign material from the test probes. |
 |
Fixture power busses
are marked with their respective voltages and each power supply buss is wired with
different color wire. Power supply identification and markings help reduce
troubleshooting and maintenance efforts. |
 |
One additional VCC and
Ground probe is added for every four chips. This provides a more stable test
by eliminating VCC or Ground bounce and shifts. |
 |
A different color wire
is used for each connector on the interface panel. |
 |
All accessible unused
chip pins will be probed. This provides increased fault coverage and reduces
field failures due to latent defects. |
Of course, additional features such as overclamps,
counters and ESD protection are added in accordance with your specifications or design
needs.
